The Antonioli 6×6 Prima Decoder operates on the principle of manual self-impressioning, allowing locksmiths to open and decode a lock by mimicking the internal profile of the original key. The process is simple, fast, and completely non-destructive.
The decoder works on the self-impressioning principle, allowing the Soft Keys’ pins to shape themselves to match the exact configuration of the original key’s bitting.
Step-by-Step Guide:
Insert the Tension Tool
Place the tension tool into the lock in the same direction as the lock tongue (the locking notch).
This tool applies controlled torque to simulate the action of a real key.
Insert the First Soft Key
Insert it into the opposite side of the tension tool.
The Soft Key is designed to match the dimensions and profile of the original Antonioli key.
Rotate and Shake
Gently rotate the Soft Key 90° while lightly shaking both the key and tension tool together.
This motion allows the movable pins to adjust and align with the lock’s internal levers.
Complete the First Half of the Key Profile
As the pins adjust, you’ll feel a smoother rotation begin—this signals that half the profile is decoded.
Use the Second Soft Key
Repeat the same impressioning process to complete the second half of the key profile.
After this, you’ll have a full working double-bit profile.
Finish Remaining Turns
Use the same Soft Keys to complete Turns 3 and 4 without resetting or reconfiguring.
