ABOUT MAGNATEK DECODER

The Disec MR423 & D MAG R MagnateK Decoder (Mag.Dec.) is a professional tool for unlocking DISEC magnetic defenders. It works efficiently on models with multi-rotor (turret) heads and anti-pick cuts. Instead of forcing entry, it decodes the defender’s magnetic configuration, allowing for a reliable, silent, and mark-free unlock. Once the decoder identifies the code, the operator can reuse it—there’s no need to repeat the process. This makes the tool both time-saving and non-destructive.

How does It Work?

The Disec MR423 & D MAG R MagnateK decoder uses three rotating rotors. Each rotor contains two magnets that must align at precise angles to unlock the system. Modern DISEC defenders often include “fake code” positions, which are designed to block accidental decoding and increase security. To overcome this, the decoder detects subtle changes in the magnetic field as each rotor rotates into position. By analyzing these shifts, the tool identifies the correct unlocking combination.

Typically, the decoding process takes between 2 and 8 minutes—even in challenging cases.

The kit includes:

Key Features

  • Non-Destructive and Silent: The Disec MR423 & D MAG R MagnateK Decoder operates without causing any damage or leaving marks on the defender. As a result, it ensures full discretion during every use.

Time-Efficient: In most cases, the decoder unlocks the defender in just 2 to 8 minutes. Compared to traditional methods, this makes it a much faster and more efficient solution.

Permanent Code Memory: After decoding the defender’s magnetic code, the Mag.Dec. retains the combination. Therefore, the operator can unlock the same defender again without repeating the entire process.

Opening procedure

Here are some steps for the opening procedure:

1. Identifying the Defender Profile

First, use the visual pattern provided on the Mag.Dec to check whether it matches the profile of the defender. This step helps ensure compatibility before proceeding.

2. Polarity Testing

Next, determine the polarity of the magnets in each rotor using the included test plate and magnetic rod. Follow these steps carefully:

  • Insert the test plate into the defender, making sure it’s in the correct orientation.

  • Then, use the magnetic rod to test each rotor position (1, 2, and 3).

  • For each position, observe one of the following results:

    • Two negative magnets: The magnetic rod’s “+” tip is attracted, while the “–” side is repelled.

    • Two positive magnets: The “+” tip is repelled entirely at that position.

    • Mixed polarity: Both the “+” and “–” sides of the magnetic rod are attracted.

3. Configuring the Decoder

Once you’ve identified the polarity of all three rotors, adjust the knobs on the D MAG R & MR423 MagnateK Decoder to match the defender’s magnetic configuration. This step ensures accurate alignment for successful unlocking.

Synchronizing the Mag.Dec

The Disec MR423 & D MAG R MagnateK Decoder includes adjustable knobs that allow you to match the defender’s magnetic polarity. After completing the polarity test, you may find that a rotor contains two positive magnets. In this case, you can correct the configuration by rotating the rotor head, removing one positive magnet, flipping it, and reinserting it. This adjustment typically takes about 2 minutes for all three knobs.

Once you’ve aligned the Mag.Dec with the defender’s polarity, you’re ready to begin the decoding process.

Initial Setup:

  • First, set all knobs to their starting positions, which are clearly marked with guide lines.

  • Then, note that each rotation scale is divided into 16 sectors. These sectors match the number of “ticks” you’ll feel while rotating the decoder.

  • With this setup complete, you can now begin testing combinations to identify the correct unlocking code.

Decoding Cycle:

  • Insert the Decoder
Start by inserting the Disec MR423 & D MAG R MagnateK Decoder into the defender’s keyway. Apply tension in the direction indicated by the front-facing arrow on the Mag.Dec.

  • Set a Reference Point
Next, observe the laser spot projected onto the floor. Mark or mentally note its initial position—this will help you detect any subtle movement during decoding.

  • Begin Rotor Testing – Knob No. 1

    • Rotate Knob No. 1 one tick to the right.

    • Then, release the tension briefly and reapply it.

    • Watch the laser spot closely for any movement or deviation from the original reference point.

  • Continue or Move to the Next Rotor

    • If you notice a deviation, stop rotating that knob. This indicates you’ve likely found part of the correct code for that rotor.

    • After that, move on to the next rotor and repeat the same process.

  • Record Key Positions
To restore the decoder to a successful unlocking configuration later, make sure to record the final position of each knob once the full combination is found.
