ABOUT MAGNATEK DECODER

The Disec MRM29 MagnateK decoder (Mag. Dec.). offers a smart, non-destructive solution for unlocking DISEC magnetic defenders. It works efficiently on advanced models, including those with multiple rotor (turret) heads and anti-pick cuts.

Instead of forcing entry, the decoder reads the defender’s magnetic configuration and enables a reliable, silent, and mark-free opening. As a result, operators can unlock the defender without leaving traces.

Moreover, once the Mag.Dec. decodes the correct combination, it stores the code. This means you won’t need to repeat the unlocking process for future use on the same defender.

How does It Work?

The Disec MRM29 MagnateK Decoder features two rotating rotors, each equipped with two magnets that must align at precise angles to unlock the defender. However, modern DISEC models often include “fake code” positions, which increase the challenge and help prevent accidental decoding.

To address this, the decoder systematically tests each position by rotating the rotors while monitoring changes in the magnetic field. As each rotor moves into alignment, the tool detects subtle deviations that reveal the correct unlocking combination.

Overall, the entire decoding process usually takes just 2 to 8 minutes—even under the most difficult conditions.

The kit includes:

Key Features

  • Non-Destructive and Silent:
The Disec MRM29 MagnateK Decoder opens the defender cleanly, without scratching or damaging any components. As a result, it allows for fully discreet operations—ideal for professional use where precision and stealth matter.
  • Time-Efficient:
Because of its advanced and responsive mechanism, the decoder unlocks most defenders within just 2 to 8 minutes. In comparison to traditional methods, it delivers a much faster, smoother, and more efficient experience.
  • Permanent Code Memory:
After decoding the magnetic code, the tool stores the successful combination. Consequently, you can reuse the decoder on the same defender later, without repeating the entire process—saving both time and effort.

Opening procedure

1. Identifying the Defender Profile

To begin, check whether the MRM29 MagnateK Decoder matches the specific defender profile. For a quick comparison, use the built-in visual pattern located on the decoder. This pattern helps you determine compatibility right away and ensures you’re using the correct tool.

2. Polarity Testing

Next, test the polarity of the magnets in each rotor using the included test plate and magnetic rod. To perform this correctly, follow the steps below:

  • First, insert the test plate into the defender, ensuring the orientation is correct.
  • Then, take the magnetic rod and test each rotor position—specifically positions 1 and 2.
  • At each test point, observe one of the following results:
    • Two negative magnets: The “+” end of the magnetic rod is attracted, while the “–” end is repelled.
    • Two positive magnets: The “+” end is repelled entirely across the position.
    • Mixed polarity: Both the “+” and “–” ends are attracted.

By carefully monitoring these reactions, you can clearly determine the polarity of each rotor.

3. Configuring the Decoder

After completing the polarity test, immediately adjust the knobs on the MRM29 MagnateK Decoder to match the defender’s magnetic configuration. Accurate alignment at this stage is crucial, as it directly influences the success of the decoding process.

Synchronizing the Mag.Dec

The MRM29 MagnateK Decoder features two adjustable knobs that let you directly match the polarity configuration of the defender. After you perform the polarity test, you may find that one of the rotors has two positive magnets. If that happens, fix the alignment by rotating the rotor head, removing one of the magnets, flipping it, and reinserting it in reverse. You can complete this adjustment in about 2 minutes for both knobs.

After setting the correct polarity, move on to the decoding process.

Initial Setup:

  • First, position both knobs at the starting point, which is clearly marked with alignment lines.

  • Next, begin rotating the knobs. Each rotation scale includes 16 sectors, and you will feel a distinct “tick” with each small movement.

  • As you rotate, these ticks indicate different decoding positions and help guide you as you test various combinations.

Decoding Cycle:

  • Insert the MRM29 MagnateK decoder into the defender’s opening and apply tension according to the front-facing arrow on the Mag.Dec.
  • Observe the laser spot on the floor; mark or remember its position.
  • Rotate knob No.:1 by one tick to the right, release tension, and reapply tension.
  • Monitor the laser spot for any deviations after each tick.
  • If deviations are detected, stop the cycle and proceed to the next rotor.

Record the positions of each knob if you wish to restore the Mag.Dec to its working state
