ABOUT MAGNATEK DECODER

The MRM500 & 3G Diamond DISEC decoder MagnateK (Mag.Dec.) offers a fast, non-destructive way to unlock DISEC-brand magnetic defenders. It handles advanced models with multiple rotor heads and anti-pick cuts with ease.

By decoding the defender’s magnetic configuration, Mag.Dec. gives operators a reliable, silent, and mark-free unlocking solution. Furthermore, it stores the decoded magnetic code, so users don’t need to repeat the process in future operations.

How does It Work?

The MRM500 & 3G Diamond DISEC decoder MagnateK features three rotating rotors, each containing two magnets that must align at precise angles to unlock the system.

Modern DISEC locks often include false code positions to confuse users and prevent random manipulation. Nevertheless, the decoder identifies subtle shifts in the magnetic field as each rotor moves. With continuous testing and tactile feedback, it accurately determines the correct unlocking combination.

Typically, users can open a lock in 2 to 8 minutes—even under challenging conditions.

Key Features

  • Non-Destructive and Silent: MRM500 & 3G Diamond DISEC decoder MagnateK works without damaging or marking the defender, ensuring complete discretion during use.
  • Time-Efficient: The opening time is between 2 and 8 minutes, making it significantly faster than traditional methods.
  • Permanent Code Memory: Once the defender’s code is decoded, the Mag.Dec can be used to open the defender again without repeating the entire unlocking process.

Opening procedure

1. Identify the Defender Profile
First, check if the Mag.Dec matches the lock you’re working with. It includes a visual pattern that helps you quickly recognize the correct defender profile.

2. Test the Polarity
Next, determine the polarity of the magnets in each rotor. Use the included test plate and magnetic rod for this step. Here’s how:

  • Insert the test plate into the defender, making sure it’s in the correct position.

  • Then, use the magnetic rod to test each of the three positions (1, 2, and 3).

  • You’ll see one of three results at each position:

    • Two negative magnets: The “+” end of the stick is pulled in, while the “−” end is pushed away.

    • Two positive magnets: The “+” end is repelled at every part of the position.

    • Mixed polarity: Both “+” and “−” ends are attracted.

3. Adjust the Decoder
After you finish the polarity test, set the decoder to match. Use the knobs on the 3G Diamond & MRM500 MagnateK to match the rotor polarity of the defender.

Adjusting the MagnateK and Starting the Decoding Process

The 3G Diamond & MRM500 MagnateK includes three adjustable knobs. These knobs let you match the rotor polarity of the defender based on the earlier polarity test.

If you find a rotor with two positive magnets, simply rotate the head, remove one magnet, flip it, and insert it back. This quick adjustment helps align the rotor correctly. Usually, it takes about 2 minutes to adjust all three knobs.

Starting the Decoding Process

Once the Mag.Dec is set to match the defender’s polarity, you can begin decoding.

Initial Setup:

  • Start by placing all knobs at the default position. You’ll see small alignment lines that mark this point.

  • Each knob turns through 16 distinct positions. These positions create a series of “ticks” you can feel as you rotate the device. Each tick represents one sector on the rotation scale.

Decoding Cycle:

  • First, insert the 3G Diamond & MRM500 MagnateK into the defender’s keyway. Then, apply light tension in the direction indicated by the front-facing arrow on the Mag.Dec.
  • Next, observe the laser spot projected onto the floor. Either mark or memorize its position carefully.
  • Now, turn knob No. 1 one tick to the right. Immediately release the tension, and then reapply it.
  • After each tick, watch the laser spot closely. If you notice any movement or deviation, pause the process and move on to the next rotor.
  • Finally, record the exact position of each knob. This step allows you to easily restore the decoder to a previously successful configuration, if needed.
