Important: this tool DOES open locks with anti-pick cuts but it requires lots of experience to use it.It is not recommended to unexperienced locksmiths
Since this Classic decoder has a design meant for the double bit lever lock with 3×3 levers, its structure is build accordingly. The pick consists of stick with 3×3 pins. Those pins are arranged in a certain order that corresponds to the lock it is made for. On the other hand, the pins are tightened by a pin manipulator. It is positioned on the back of the handle. If it is tight the pins will be hard to move. If it is loose, the pins will be soft.
The decoder comes with two Soft keys and Tensions. And those are fully assembled and ready for operation. No additional assembly is required. First first make sure the lock is the CORRECT one.
Now insert the Tension tool which will put the lock carriage (lock tongue) in tension. This is the same function as the key normally does when it is turned. After that, insert the first soft key with the pins. It’s important to emphasize that the pins should have the possibility to move. But not too loose, neither too hard.
Now, start by slightly shaking both the Tension and the Stick with pins. Those vibrations will move the pins of the soft key with pins. And you must repeat this until the soft key can “assume” the position corresponding to that of the “teeth” of the original key. In this way the profile of a half of the key is obtained. To obtain the other half, you simply repeat the operation for the second half of the profile with the second soft key. At this point you have a complete emergency double bit profile map that can open and close the lock exactly like the original key of the lock model Cisa 3×3 (Mappa Piccola Double Bit lever lock).
The repair procedure related to the change of pins. Simply loosen the tension of the pins (with the back screw) and put a new pin!
There is no such thing as “one tool to open EVERY lock”. Hence, universal tool cannot exist with this types of tools! The operator must know the Double Bit Lock he tries to open. Hence some locksmith knowledge is required.
These lockpick tools work with NO FORCE. You apply medium amount of tension. The tool will lift each of the levers of the Double Bit Lock to a specific height. And this allows the locking bolt to move forward. This happens until it “assumes” the position corresponding to that of the “teeth” of the original key. In this way the profile of a half of the key is obtained. To obtain the other half, it is necessary to repeat the operation for the second half of the profile. At this point you have a complete double bit profile able to open and close the lock exactly like the original key.
