Calibrated mechanical positioning system for controlled non-destructive opening
This professional toolset opens CR pump lock cylinders through controlled mechanical positioning instead of traditional manipulation. As a result, it provides greater precision and consistency during the unlocking process.
The system uses six independent positioning pins that directly correspond to the six pumping elements inside the cylinder. First, you insert the tool into the lock. Then, you progressively adjust the pin depth levels. Consequently, the internal carrier aligns step by step until it reaches the unlocking position.
Furthermore, this method replicates the exact movement logic of the original key. However, instead of relying on continuous motion, it uses indexed positioning. Therefore, the operator gains better control, improved accuracy, and more predictable results.
1. Operating principle - BASIC PHASE
The procedure begins by installing pin level 1 into all blade carrier positions (6 pins total). Then, reset each pin using the reset tool provided.
Next, insert the tool fully into the cylinder and push it inward firmly. This action simulates the pumping motion of the original key.
At this stage, do NOT apply any rotation — apply only controlled inward pressure.
After each positioning cycle, remove the tool and inspect the pins carefully.
Each pin has a visible step reference groove. You must compare this groove with the outer reference edge of the blade carrier.
Only when the groove aligns exactly with the carrier edge is the position considered reached.
If the groove is:
close to the line
almost touching the line
slightly below the line
DO NOT replace the pin.
Instead, keep the pin in position and continue the procedure.
reference groove & edge
Only when the groove aligns exactly with the carrier edge is the position considered reached.
After the inspection, return all pins to their starting position using the reset tool before beginning the next cycle.
Then, repeat the positioning procedure using the same pin level. This repetition allows the internal mechanism to settle gradually.
During the following cycles, the internal element settles into position, and the reference groove moves precisely toward the reference line.
Replace the pin only after the groove reaches exact alignment with the reference edge.
Do NOT replace the pin too early. Premature replacement will move the mechanism past its correct working positionand delay the opening process.
Next, remove the tool and inspect the pin positions carefully.
If one or more pins have dropped lower than their previous position, this movement indicates that the corresponding internal element requires a deeper positioning level.
Replace the affected pin with the next level pin from the magnetic step-pin pad.
Continue the process progressively through the 4 available calibrated pin levels until the carrier reaches the release position.
2. Operating principle - Advanced phase
If no pin movement occurs after the initial inward pressing procedure — meaning none of the pins reach the reference line of the blade carrier — the cylinder requires assisted cam engagement.
Insert the tool fully into the cylinder and perform controlled inward pumping while applying light rotational tension, alternating clockwise and counter-clockwise. The tension must remain minimal, only enough to allow the internal carrier to search for its gate position.
When you feel a slight internal give — similar to the point where the original key begins to rotate — increase the tension moderately and continue controlled inward pumping.
Repeat this pumping cycle approximately 5–10 times in both directions (LEFT AND RIGHT).
Then, remove the tool and inspect the pin positions carefully.
Any pin that has advanced deeper toward the blade reference line indicates the required next step level for that position. Replace that pin with the next depth step pin so that its reference groove aligns precisely with the carrier reference edge.
Repeat the procedure progressively until the mechanism reaches full release position.
Magnetic modul support
Some CR pump lock cylinders incorporate an internal magnetic element that prevents the pumping carrier from reaching the release gate unless the correct magnetic orientation is present.
For this reason, the tool handle contains a reversible magnetic module with two opposite polarities (+ / −).
The tool is supplied in the default orientation, which is suitable for most cylinders (minus (−) on the back).
If the pins do not progress toward the reference line after multiple positioning cycles and no further movement occurs, this condition indicates magnetic blocking.
In this case, remove the magnetic module, reverse its polarity, and reinsert it into the handle. After changing the polarity, repeat the positioning procedure. The carrier will then advance normally toward the release position.
The magnetic module does NOT open the cylinder directly — instead, it allows the internal mechanism to reach the release path.
Pin alignment reference
Correct positioning is achieved when the reference groove of each pin aligns exactly with the outer reference line of the blade carrier.
This alignment represents the release position of the internal pumping element
Why it works
CR pump locks unlock when their internal pumping elements reach a specific spatial position that allows the carrier to enter its release gate.
The original key achieves this state by pressing and rotating simultaneously using continuous motion.
The tool reproduces the same mechanical state through indexed positioning instead of continuous movement.
Each calibrated pin level corresponds to a specific internal element depth. By progressively increasing these depths, the operator guides the carrier step by step toward the release position.
Because the mechanism depends on precise positioning rather than force, the opening process remains predictable and repeatable.
The magnetic module ensures compatibility with cylinders that include magnetic blocking elements and allows the mechanism to reach the release path.
The lock is not forced, bypassed or decoded during the opening phase. It is brought into the exact mechanical condition in which the original key would operate.
After the cylinder opens, the final pin positions correspond to the working key geometry.
The tool therefore allows passive reading of the key combination after successful opening.
